Chapitre 1
FAMILY AND SOCIAL LIFE (partie 4/5)
- Utiliser correctement les prépositions de direction (*to, into, onto, towards, through, across, along, up, down, over, under, out of, off, from*) et de state (*in, at, on, by, with, without, about, for, of*) pour situer des actions dans l’espace et exprimer un état.
- Formuler et répondre à des questions WH (*who, what, where, when, why, how*) en respectant l’ordre des mots et l’intonation interrogative.
- Connaissance des verbes d’action de base (go, come, take, put, help, organise, participate).
---
## Introduction contextualisée

> **Dear Sir/Madam,**
>
> I am writing to bring to your attention a growing problem in our neighbourhood: the accumulation of plastic waste along the banks of the Mfoundi River. This waste not only spoils the natural beauty of the area but also poses health risks to residents, especially children who play near the water.

> To tackle this issue, our youth club “Green Yaoundé” proposes a monthly river‑clean‑up campaign. The first event will take place **on Saturday, 15 May 2025**, from **08:00 to 12:00**, starting at the bridge near the market. Volunteers will be provided with gloves, bags and safety instructions. We will separate recyclable plastics for onward processing and organise a short talk on waste reduction after the clean‑up.
>
> We kindly invite you and your staff to **participate** as volunteers or to support the initiative by donating cleaning supplies or helping to spread the word through your communication channels. Your involvement would greatly increase the impact of our actions and demonstrate a shared commitment to a cleaner, healthier environment.
